A "Retrospective Preview"
of the Blitzstein-Lehrman opera Sacco and Vanzetti presented on Zoom
as part of the Hofstra Italian American Experience Lecture Series
featuring composer Leonard Lehrman, director Ben Spierman,
Professors Stanislao Pugliese and Mary Anne Trasciatti,
and members of the cast from the first and the current productions.
Attendees Oct. 19 included two great-nieces of Marc Blitzstein: Carolyn Erskine and Sarah Davis.
Participants interviewed during act breaks include Hofstra faculty member Gregory Mercer;
his former (Hofstra) students Christopher Remkus, Jackie Bakewell and Brendan Rorke;
pianist Michael Pilafian; and cast members Helene Williams, Lars Woodul, Karen Jolicoeur,
Thomas Smith, Perri Sussman, Sarah Blaze, Kevin Courtemanche, Henry Yen, J. Eric Lindsey.
